SYSTEMATIC REVIEWS AND META-ANALYSIS

TRAINING WORKSHOP

SUPPORTED BY ITOCA, CORNELL UNIVERSITY AND CARNEGIE MELLON UNIVERSITY; MUHAS LIBRARY

MAIN OBJECTIVE

The main objective of this workshop is to equip participants with necessary hands-on skills to conduct systematic review and Meta analysis

 DATE AND VENUE

  •          5th to 9th FEB. 2018
  •          MUHAS, Library Computer lab,
  •          Time: 1:00 PM – 5:30 PM

TOPICS TO BE COVERED

  • Systematic Reviews process, related methods and protocol development
  • Identifying databases and sources of grey literature
  • Tools and resources for accessing the full text of articles
  • Developing complex and comprehensive search in Pub med
  • Covidence for managing the systematic review process
  • Quality assessment, risk of bias and meta-analysis for systematic reviews

ATTENDANCE

 

  • Attendance is free for MUHAS staff and students.
  • Participants from outside MUHAS will have to pay TZS 350,000/= as participation fees.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

  •         Academic staff of all schools at MUHAS. (Junior faculties are highly encouraged attend)
  •          MUHAS MSc by research & Doctoral students
  •       Other interested participants outside MUHAS

The workshop will be facilitated by experienced facilitators from

  • MUHAS,
  • Information Training and outreach Canter for Africa (ITOCA), South Africa
  • Carnegie Mellon University, USA and
  • Cornell University in USA
